WINDHOEK, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) on Thursday donated family planning devices worth 582,000 U.S. dollars to Namibia to help deal with rampant teenage pregnancies in the country.
The donation was presented to Namibia's Health Minister Benhard Haufiku by UNFPA Representative Dennia Gayle at a ceremony in Windhoek.
Incidence of teenage pregnancies in Namibia stands at 19 percent; the rate is as high as 35 percent in some regions.
