TOKYO, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the mid-108 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Friday, after tumbling in New York overnight as U.S. equities tanked.
As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 108.53-55 yen compared with 108.70-80 yen in New York and 109.53-54 yen at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday in Tokyo.
The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.2259-2261 dollars and 133.07-08 yen against 1.2242-2252 dollars and 133.13-23 yen in New York and 1.2267-2268 dollars and 134.36-40 yen in late Thursday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
