SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Silicon Valley Entrepreneurs Festival will be held in May in the U.S. state of California to facilitate collaboration on frontier technologies, the organizers said Wednesday.

More than 1,000 participants from China and the United States, including industry players, researchers, incubators and government officials, are expected to attend the event in Santa Clara.

"The era of globalization is upon us. We are experiencing the unprecedentedly rapid permeation of innovation around the world," said Wang Hanguang, chairman of the festival's organizing committee.

"The Silicon Valley Entrepreneurs Festival is not only a conference for world's top resources in innovation and entrepreneurship but also a platform for forging win-win partnership," said Wang, also chairman of Beijing-based Hanhai Holdings Group.

The festival will focus on global innovation and entrepreneurship, cross-border incubation and investment.

Hot topics such as intellectual property, artificial intelligence, life sciences and blockchain will be explored through a series of programs, like keynote speeches, fireside chats, panel sessions and startup demos.

Other activities during the upcoming festival include the China-U.S. Intellectual Property Summit, the Incubation and Investment Forum and the Global Capital Summit.

The China-U.S. Intellectual Property Summit will invite leading intellectual property law experts, including judges and attorneys, to give in-depth discussions on cross-border intellectual property topics, according to the organizing committee.

The annual Silicon Valley Entrepreneurs Festival was initiated by Hanhai Holdings in 2016 with the support of China's Ministry of Science and Technology, the Bay Area Council of San Francisco and the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco, according to the organizers.

More than 2,000 people attended the past two gatherings, including 500from China. The past two events featured 20 keynote speeches, 16 panel discussions, and four start-up company competitions involving over 1,000 projects.

The festival is aimed at establishing a platform to facilitate engagement between investors and entrepreneurs from all over the world, and to showcase brand influence on a global stage, said Wang.
