YANGON, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar government formed an 11-member National Defense and Security Council Friday with new President U Win Myint as chairperson, according to an announcement of the President's Office.
The council included vice-presidents U Myint Swe and U Henry Van Thio, speakers of the two Houses -- U T Khun Myat and U Mann Win Khaing Than, Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Services Sen-Gen Min Aung Hlaing, his deputy vice Sen-Gen Soe Win and Foreign Affairs Minister Aung San Suu Kyi.
The remaining memebers are Lt.Gen Kyaw Swe, Minister for Home Affairs, Lt.Gen Sein Win Minister of Defense, and Lt. Gen Ye Aung , Minister for border affairs.
Meanwhile, the government also formed a new 21-member financial commission with new President U Win Myint as chairman, two vice presidents U Myint Swe and U Henry Van Thio as vice-chairmen and chief ministers from regions and states.
The formations of both National Defense And Security Council and Financial Commission came after new President U Win Myint was sworn into office on Friday.
