MINSK, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Belarus' long-term and short-term foreign and local currency sovereign credit ratings has been affirmed with a stable outlook by Standard and Poors' rating agency.
"Positive impact on the ratings of Belarus is primarily the potential financial support from the Russian government, which was repeatedly provided in the past, despite the periodic differences between the two countries," the S&P said in a statement on Monday.
"The stable outlook reflects S&P's expectation that Belarus' external imbalances will moderate while the fiscal stance remains comparatively tight over the next 12 months, with the government retaining market access to refinance public debt redemptions beyond 2018," the statement said.
S&P experts expect to maintain the economic growth and low inflation in Belarus in the coming years.
