CHICAGO, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Tech giant Foxconn has scheduled a groundbreaking ceremony for its manufacturing complex in Midwest U.S. state of Wisconsin, local media the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported on Friday.
The Wisconsin government and Foxconn last year signed a deal on building a display screen plant worth 10 billion U.S. dollars.
The groundbreaking ceremony of Foxconn's flat-screen manufacturing campus in Racine County of southeast Wisconsin will take place on June 28 at the company's Mount Pleasant site, a company spokesman said.
Foxconn began excavation work thereon Monday.
The state Department of Natural Resources last month approved air permits for the campus and permission for the facility to pull millions of gallons of water daily from Lake Michigan.
Foxconn is expected to hire as many as 13,000 local workers.
