BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, July 14 (Xinhua) -- Brunei's Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) at the Ministry of Communications informed the public that a prohibited airspace will be set up over the country between July 15 and 29 as additional security and safety measures for the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah's birthday celebration.
A DCA official told Xinhua on Saturday that aircraft including drones without permit will not be allowed to operate in the airspace.
DCA warned that failure to comply is in contravention of laws and regulations.
Brunei police had said earlier that should unauthorised flying of drones occur above the restricted airspace during the stated period, the operator of the aircraft will be detained and interrogated.
