BEIRUT, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Around 850 Syrian refugees from Arsal in Lebanon returned to their homeland on Monday through Zemrani border crossing.

Departing Syrian refugees were registered in a center at Wadi Hemayed and they moved towards Zemrani border crossing using cars while carrying luggage, furniture, home appliances and ready-made houses, reported the Lebanese National News Agency.

The return of refugees was carried out in cooperation with the Lebanese General Security and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Lebanon under strict supervision of the Lebanese army.

The Lebanese Red Cross (LRC) placed two ambulances close to the meeting point in Wadi Hemayed with medical workers and a field hospital.

LRC offered medical services to 65 people since the start of the process till it ended, said a statement by local news agency Elnashra.

On June 28, the first round of 400 refugees returned to their homeland from Arsal to Qalamoun via Wadi Hmayyed.

Meanwhile, around 400 refugees returned to their homeland on July 7 from camps in Arsal to Qara, Jarajir and Ras al-maara in Syria.

Around 1,000 Syrian refugees returned from Shabaa to Golan Heights over two months ago.

The Syrian refugees' crisis has been a hot topic in Lebanon lately.

More than one million Syrian refugees are registered with the UNHCR in Lebanon. The government estimated the true number of Syrians in the country to be 1.5 million.
