JAKARTA, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian government has strongly condemned Israel's Monday attack on the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza, saying that such actions are grave violations of international law and human rights.
"The attacks on healthcare facilities and workers in Northern Gaza, including the Indonesian Hospital, are clear violations of international law, international humanitarian law, and fundamental human rights," Indonesia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on social media Tuesday.
In addition, the government denounced Israeli forces' total siege and ongoing assaults on northern Gaza, which have led to severe hunger and rising civilian casualties.
Indonesia called for the protection of healthcare facilities, medical personnel, and patients, and urged Israel to immediately halt its attacks across Gaza.
The Indonesian government also urged the United Nations Security Council to take decisive action to end the war and protect civilians. ■
