KAMPALA, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- Uganda's National Basketball League side, Our Savior Basketball Club appointed German David Burkowski as the new coach.
"Our Savior Basketball Uganda is excited to announce we have a new head coach for the 2018 season. The new coach is Burkowski from Germany," the Club communicated on Friday.
The German born coach, who has also handled Kenyan side Lions, will take over from Belton Kirabo who will now be his assistant.
"I am happy to join a young team that I will work hard to change their mentality and style of play," Burkowski told Xinhua.
Burkowski had his first coaching spot in Kenya as head coach of KCB Lions in the Kenya Premier League 2014-2015.
Last season Our Savior finished seventh in the regular season which was won by City Oilers. "The target will be to improve the team so that it can challenge for the title in regular season and the play-offs," said the new coach. Enditem
