BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- Boca Juniors will meet Barcelona in a friendly at the Camp Nou in August, the Argentine club's president said on Monday.
The teams will vie for the Joan Gamper trophy, a traditional match played in the Catalan capital before the Spanish domestic season.
"We will travel to face Barcelona in August," Boca president Daniel Angelici told Radio Cooperativa.
The Buenos Aires giants have participated in the annual fixture once before, losing 2-1 to Pep Guardiola's Barcelona in 2008.
Last year the fixture pitted Barcelona against Chapecoense, the Brazilian side that lost most of their players and coaching staff in a 2016 plane crash.
