SARAJEVO, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- Second Economic Forum of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) 2018 officially opened here on Thursday with the aim of improving the economic and business environment in BiH and the region.
At the official opening, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic held a speech saying that the Western Balkan region should be seen as a unique economic space that offers substantial conditions to investors.
Zvizdic emphasized that BiH government is committed to improving investment climate and reforms, and to strengthen the economic base of BiH and decrease unemployment.
At the end of his speech, Zvizdic noted that BiH has great natural resources and quality workforce, having a comparative advantage over what Europe currently needs.
"Our task is to enhance the BiH's unique economic space and to work on further harmonization of the regulatory framework and improvement of business climate," Zvizdic added.
He concluded that forums, exchange of opinion and good practices are needed for the further improvement of the country.
This year's forum has seen the participation of about 500 attendees, including representatives of governments, academic and business communities.
Economic Forum of BiH 2018 creates a synergy of activities by creators of economic policies, business and academic community, all in order to form the attractive business environment in BiH, official website said.
