MADRID, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- Real Madrid have suffered an injury setback with the confirmation on Friday that central midfielder Toni Kroos will be out of action for at least two weeks after suffering a knee injury.
Although the club has not given the extent of the injury, it is known that Kroos has suffered a twisted external ligament in his left knee and will be out of action for at least a fortnight and possibly more.
That means he will miss Liga Santander matches against Betis, Leganes, Alaves and Espanyol and is a doubt for the following weekend against Getafe.
The big date on Real Madrid's calendar is the Champions League return leg away to Paris Saint Germain on March 6th, Kroos should be fit if the recovery time is just two weeks, but if it is any longer Zinedine Zidane will lose a key player as his side travels to Paris to defend Wednesday night's 3-1 first leg victory.
