TOKYO, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened higher Tuesday following Wall Street's solid lead overnight which saw the U.S. 10-year Treasury note yield eased and technology, industrial and financial sectors gain ground.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 239.94 points, or 1.08 percent, from Monday to 22,393.57.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 15.36 points, or 0.87 percent, at 1,790.17.
Mining, electric appliance and nonferrous metal-oriented issues comprised those that gained the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
