LOS ANGELES, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Allison Janney Sunday won the Best Supporting Actress at the 90th Academy Awards for her touching performance in biographical film "I, Tonya."
Her performance as an abusive, vitriolic mother of disgraced American figure skater Tonya Harding in "I, Tonya" directed by Craig Gillespie had won several major awards before the Oscars, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress -- Motion Picture, the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role, and the Critics' Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress.
This is the first Oscar award for 58-year-old Janney.
"I did it all by myself," joked Janney in her acceptance speech. "Nothing could be further from the truth."
