PHNOM PENH, March 7 (Xinhua) -- The 2018 Cambodia-China business and investment forum was held here on Wednesday, aiming at exploring ways to further boost economic, trade and investment ties between the two countries.
The half-day forum was attended by nearly 50 business executives from Chinese enterprises and dozens of Cambodian officials and business representatives.
Speaking at the event, Nut Unvoanra, deputy secretary general of the Cambodian Investment Board of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), said the forum was a good opportunity for business executives of both countries to meet and explore possibility for business cooperation.
The official highlighted growing relations between the two countries in trade and tourism.
Cheng Qingtao, vice chairman of the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), believed that through the forum, more Chinese enterprises would come to invest in Cambodia.
"We hope that entrepreneurs from the two countries will make full use of this forum to deepen exchanges and talks, to seek opportunities for business cooperation and to make every effort to achieve more pragmatic results," he said.
Cheng said China and Cambodia still had huge room for growth in trade, investment, finance, industries, agriculture, and tourism, especially under the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative.
The forum was jointly organized by the CCOIC, the CDC, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
At the event, Cambodian officials and business executives also presented investment law and business environment to the Chinese side.
