BERLIN, March 7 (Xinhua) -- The international travel trade show, ITB Berlin, kicked off here on Wednesday, drawing around 10,000 tourism companies from 186 countries and regions worldwide.
The travel trade show, scheduled from March 7 to March 11, will see more than 100,000 international trade visitors seeking business opportunities as well as a great number of residents seeking inspiration for their next trip, the organizers forecasted.
The trade show will also devote itself to innovative and forward-looking trends in the travel industry.
Over-tourism, revolutionary forms of transport for travel, and the future prospects for artificial intelligence in the travel sector are among key topics to be discussed at numerous symposiums of the ITB.
Moreover, Chinese exhibitor numbers are growing especially fast, said David Ruetz, Head of the ITB Berlin, adding that the Chinese online portal Ctrip will be exhibiting its products at ITB Berlin for the first time, joined by many other newcomers from the Chinese market.
China National Tourism Administration led a delegation of more than 100 members representing different localities, tourism businesses and aviation companies to the ITB Berlin. They will promote a slew of tourism brands such as "Beautiful China-the Great Wall".
