KUWAIT CITY, April 14 (Xinhua) -- The Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah condemned Saturday a terrorist attack in central Sinai, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) said.
In a cable of condolences sent to Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi on victims of a terrorist attack on an armed forces position in central Sinai, the emir condemned this heinous criminal act, and expressed Kuwait's solidarity with Egypt and its people, as well as supporting all measures taken to preserve stability and eliminate terrorists, KUNA said.
The emir also wished rapid recovery for the injured, it said.
At least eight Egyptian soldiers were killed and 15 others wounded in a terror attack on a military camp in central Sinai, the military said Saturday.
Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, especially North Sinai province, has been the center of terrorist attacks that have killed hundreds of policemen and soldiers following the military ouster of former Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
Most of the terror attacks were carried out by a Sinai-based group affiliated with the Islamic State (IS) regional terrorist group.
