BUENOS AIRES, April 14 (Xinhua) -- Godoy Cruz moved to within four points of leaders Boca Juniors with a 3-0 victory over Temperley in the Superliga Argentina on Saturday.
Agustin Verdugo struck in the first half before Santiago Garcia scored twice in seven minutes to secure the Mendoza-based club's 14th win from 23 matches.
Boca Juniors will have the chance to stretch their lead in the 28-team standings to seven points when they confront Independiente on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Belgrano maintained their hopes of a top-five finish by overcoming Arsenal de Sarandi 3-0. Cristian Lema netted a brace for the hosts while Matias Suarez was also on the scoresheet.
The result left Belgrano 11th in the standings, six points behind fifth-placed Huracan.
The top-five teams at the end of the season will earn a berth in next year's Copa Libertadores, South America's top club competition.
In other matches on Saturday, San Martin beat Olimpo 2-0, Banfield drew 0-0 at Lanus and Defensa y Justicia defeated Racing Club 3-2.
