TOKYO, May 15 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper 109 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Tuesday, marginally higher than its levels in New York overnight.
As markets opened here, the dollar changed hands at 109.74-75 yen compared with 109.59-69 yen in New York and 109.50-52 yen at 5 p.m. on Monday in Tokyo.
The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1931-1933 dollars and 130.94-95 yen against 1.1921-1931 dollars and 130.74-84 yen in New York and 1.1978-1979 dollars and 131.16-20 yen in late Monday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
