ZAGREB, July 14 (Xinhua) -- The upcoming summit of China and Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC) set to be held next year in Croatia will strengthen the overall relationship between Croatia and China, Croatian news agency Hina on Saturday quoted Zdravka Busic, State Secretary of Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Ministry, as saying.
Busic believes that the cooperation mechanism between 16 central and eastern European countries and China opens up great opportunities for various activities and areas.
The state secretary hailed the achievements made in Croatia-China cooperation, including the construction contract for the Peljesac Bridge, a 2.4-km-long bridge that will connect the southernmost Dubrovnik-Neretva County to the rest of the mainland, giving Croatia a continuous land link.
Busic said Croatia is also ready to cooperate with China in order to revitalize Croatian ports and renew the railway infrastructure. She said Croatia can offer an additional direction for the placement of Chinese goods via Rijeka and Zadar towards southeastern Europe.
