BERLIN, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Malaika Mihambo won the women's long jump final to snatch gold with a jump of 6.75 meters at the first edition of the multi-sport European Championships in Berlin's Olympic Stadium on Saturday.
Mihambo smoothed the way to gold with their third and longest jump, which left Ukraine's Maryna Bekh (6.73 meters) on the second place and Britain's Shara Proctor (6.70 meters) on the third place.
The first edition of the European Championships feature seven sports including aquatics events, rowing, gymnastics, cycling, triathlon and golf in Glasgow and athletics in Berlin. The competition will have more than 4,500 athletes competing for 187 gold medals until August 12.
