SOFIA, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Bulgaria's gross domestic product (GDP) expanded by 3.4 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2018, official data showed on Tuesday.
According to flash estimates released by the country's National Statistical Institute (NSI), the GDP at current prices amounted to 26.047 billion BGN (15.186 billion U.S. dollars).
Exports and imports of goods and services increased by 2.7 percent and 4.6 percent respectively compared with the same period last year, the NSI figures showed.
In the first quarter of 2018, Bulgaria's GDP grew by 3.6 percent year-on-year, while in the fourth, third and second quarters of 2017 the figure stood at 3.5 percent, 3.9 percent and 3.6 percent.
