LONDON, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Tottenham's World Cup winning goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has been charged with drink driving, the Metropolitan Police confirmed on Friday.
The Police confirm that Lloris was stopped by police officers in the Marylebone area of central London in the early hours of Friday morning.
"Hugo Lloris, 31, of East Finchley, was charged with drink driving on Friday, 24 August. He has been bailed to return to Westminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, 11 September," said a police communique.
The news of the arrest came after Tottenham boss, Mauricio Pochettino had finished his weekly press conference and he was therefore unable to make any comments about the French international.
The news comes three days before Tottenham are due to face an under-pressure Manchester United in Old Trafford on Monday evening in what could be one of the key games of the season. Enditem
