HANGZHOU, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- China's leading ride-hailing platform Didi Chuxing on Sunday said it would suspend its Hitch services nationwide, after a female passenger was raped and killed in the eastern Chinese city of Wenzhou.
Didi said that the Hitch service would be taken down from Monday. Meanwhile, two senior executives have been removed from their posts.
Didi said that the company would reevaluate the product's business model, rectify mistakes and upgrade customer service.
According to local police, a 20-year-old woman went missing on Friday afternoon after hailing an auto from Didi Chuxing in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province.
The driver was caught by police on Saturday morning, and confessed to rape and murder.
