JAKARTA, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Taipei won a gold medal in the men's recurve team event in archery at the 2018 Asian Games after defeating South Korea with a score of 5-3 on Monday.
"We are very pleased with this result and we gave our best," Wei Chungheng, one of the Chinese Taipei archers, said.
The Chinese Taipei team led in the first set with a score of 2-0. They met resistance from the South Koreans in the second and third sets.
In the second set both teams collected 53 points and the score became 3-1.
In the third set, South Korea hit top form to tie the score at 3-3.
In the fourth set, Chinese Taipei regained the momentum and closed the deciding set 56-55 for 5-3 overall.
China won the bronze medal after beating Mongolia 6-0.
