SINGAPORE, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Tuesday, as the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) went up 0.68 percent, or 21.93 points, to close at 3,247.55.
A total of 1.30 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 872.7 million Singapore dollars (about 640.75 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 206 to 194.
The STI index closed up 0.39 percent, or 12.62 points, to close at 3,225.62 Monday.
