LONDON, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.71 percent, or 54.01 points, to close at 7,563.21 points.
Micro Focus International, a multinational software and information technology business, soared 2.93 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Bunzl and United Utilities Group increased by 2.88 percent and 1.53 percent, respectively.
Tesco, a British multinational groceries and general merchandise retailer, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 3.21 percent.
