PALEMBANG, Indonesia, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- The 2019 FIFA women's football World Cup qualifier team, South Korea, outclassed Chinese Taipei 4-0 to seize Asian Games bronze medal here on Friday.
South Korean team's goals were scored by Ji Soyun and Lee Geummin in 18th and 31st minutes in the first half, and Lee Min A and Mi Ra moon in 78th and 90th minutes in the second half.
South Korean team dominated the match with 72 percent ball possession, 26 shots and 11 shots on goal that resulted in the four goals.
"I thank the hard work demonstrated by our players throughout the match. Our target was actually the gold medal. I believe they would play better for the next matches," South Korea coach Yoon Duk-yeo told a press conference on the after the match.
He added that he would search for new talents from domestic league to prepare for the 2019 World Cup.
South Korea captain Cho So-hyun said that her team would immediately prepare themselves to play in 2019 women's football world cup.
The gold medal match for Asiad women's soccer tournament will be played later on Friday between China and Japan.?
