Iran, Germany sign MoU to enhance insurance cooperation

TEHRAN, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- The Social Security Organization of Iran and German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to boost cooperation on various insurance related fields, Tehran Times reported on Saturday.

Head of Iran's Social Security Organization, Taqi Noorbakhsh, and Deputy Director of DGUV, Joachim Broer, inked the MoU in Berlin on Friday.

The agreement focused on diverse areas including rehabilitation and hospital management, as well as sharing experience and staff training courses.

Iran's Social Security Organization is a state-run insuring organization which was established in 1975.

The organization currently provides insurance coverage for 42 million people, providing 18 types of health and social insurance services in case of unemployment, retirement, disability and death, loss of caretaker and social vulnerabilities, accidents and injuries, health care and medicine.
