TOKYO, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed lower Tuesday on continued concerns about the outcome of suspended U.S.-Canada trade talks, with the market mood also dented by the U.S.-China trade tensions.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 10.48 points, or 0.05 percent, from Monday to close the day at 22,696.90.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, edged down 2.07 points, or 0.12 percent, to finish at 1,718.24.
Rubber product, mining and air transportation-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the close of play.
