ADB approves 3-mln-USD grant for Indonesia's earthquake, tsunami affected areas

MANILA, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved three million U.S. dollars in assistance to support immediate relief efforts in central Sulawesi of Indonesia, the bank said on Tuesday.

"I am pleased to announce that ADB has approved a three million U.S. dollars grant assistance to support immediate relief efforts in central Sulawesi," ADB President Takehiko Nakao said.

Nakao added that ADB has also offered long-term emergency assistance loans to help with reconstruction in devastated communities.

The ADB said the three million U.S. dollars immediate relief assistance will come from the Asia Pacific Disaster Response Fund, ADB's emergency assistance facility. Enditem
