LUSAKA, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Sven Vandenbroeck, head coach of the Zambia national soccer team, expressed optimism Tuesday that the team will record a positive result in the match against Guinea Bissau in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nationans qualifier.
Vandenbroeck, while expecting a tough match to be played at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka, the country's capital, said his players were ready to record the first win in the qualifiers.
Zambia will play the west African nation on Wednesday and then travel away to Guinea Bissau for another game three days later.
"The two games for us against Guinea Bissau are crucial, we do not have to lie about it. It is all or nothing with zero point we are totally out, with three, we will be depending too much on other results," he said during a press briefing ahead of the match.
Zambia, he said, needed maximum points from the two matches in order to be firmly in charge of their destiny and brighten chances of qualification.
He said he has summoned the best players to give Equatorial Guinea a good run and expressed satisfaction that all the foreign-based players were in camp.
The Chipolopolo are at the bottom in Group K with one point together with Namibia while Equatorial Guinea and Mozambique have four points each. Enditem
