JAKARTA, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- China topped the gold medal table and medals table in total again as the 3rd Asian Para Games were closed here on Saturday.
China won 172 gold, 88 silver and 59 bronze medals to lead the tournament for the third straight time after they won in 2010 in Guangzhou, China, and in 2014 in Incheon, South Korea.
The Chinese athletes competed in 15 out of the 18 events in the tournament, winning medals in every event with the track-and-field athletes attributing the most of 56 golds.
South Korea followed in second on the medals table, winning 53 gold, 45 silver and 47 bronze medals, while Iran on third.
The Chinese athletes also broke seven world records and 21 Asian records in the eight-day competition, with around 3,000 athletes from Asia competing in here.
Hangzhou of China will host the 2022 Asian Para Games and Wang Hong, vice major of Hangzhou City, received the Para Games flag on the closing ceremony.
