BEIJING, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- China's FAW Group Co., Ltd., a state-owned automaker in northeast China's Jilin Province, is recalling over 280,000 automobiles starting from Dec. 28, 2018, due to a fuel pump defect.
The recall affects the company's B70, X80 and B90 car models under own brand Besturn, as well as joint venture brand Mazda 6 sedans, manufactured between 2011 and 2016, according to a statement from the State Administration for Market Regulation.
Defective parts in the fuel pumps of some of the vehicles may cause abnormal abrasion, and lead to fuel disruption and unintended engine stop in extreme cases, the administration said.
The company will replace the defective fuel pumps free of charge.
