NEW DELHI, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- Flight operation at New Delhi's airport in India were hampered Thursday due to rough weather conditions including fog, officials said.
According to officials, all departures at the airport were put on hold from 7:30 a.m. local time.
Two air carriers Jet Airways and IndiGo have issued an advisory, asking their passengers to check their flight status as the services from Delhi had been affected.
"Due to expected poor visibility at Delhi and Bengaluru airport, flight departures and arrivals may be impacted. Do check your flight status before you leave for the airport," IndiGo in a statement said.
Officials said dense fog conditions have also affected some trains due to low visibility.
Meteorological department officials said dense to very dense fog has been observed at isolated places over Punjab and north Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
