MANILA, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- Philippine manufacturing sustained its growth in November 2018, government data showed on Friday.
Data released by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Monthly Integrated Survey of Selected Industries said the volume of production index (VoPI) and the value of production index (VaPI) rose by 1.0 percent and 2.1 percent in November, respectively.
The PSA said the textiles industry recorded a 54.4 percent growth, contributed largely to the increase of VaPI.
This was followed by seven other major industries that registered two-digit increments in VaPI.
The Philippine National Economic and Development Authority said both VaPI and VoPI have been on the positive territory since January 2018.
