BANGKOK, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- More than 90,000 methamphetamine pills were seized in a train in central Thailand's Hua Hin, Thai police said on Tuesday.
Railway police said they searched the train departing from Bangkok late Monday night acting on a tip-off. Two bags on a rack above the passengers' seats had been left with no one claiming ownership. A total of 90,900 speed pills were found inside the bags.
Police said the CCTV footage showed that a suspect escaped when police launched the search. The suspect, aged between 25 and 30, bought a ticket from Bangkok railway station.
It's speculated that the suspect was taking the drugs to his handler in the south.
