YANGON, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar government troops have captured two base camps of two ethnic insurgent groups in Naga Self-Administered Zone in Sagaing region, Myanmar News Agency reported Thursday.
These camps of Assam and Kathe insurgents were captured by the military near Takar village of the zone on Monday and Tuesday since security measures were carried out in these areas since Jan 29, the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Services was quoted as saying.
Some 15 different types of guns, ammunition were seized in the ravine, about 1.6 kilometers away from the western part of the village.
The security forces also confiscated 80 kinds of bullet caskets along with other accessories.
The military vowed to continue to carry out security measures in the areas to prevent infiltration of insurgents into the self-administered zone and to provide security and stability in the region.
