YANGON, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- Bilateral trade between Myanmar and Vietnam reached 196 million U.S. dollars as of December in the present fiscal year 2018-2019 which started in October last year, according to the figures from the Commerce Ministry on Saturday.
During the first quarter of this FY 2018-2019, Myanmar's export to Vietnam hit 48.5 million U.S. dollars while its import shared 147.7 million U.S. dollars.
The country's mineral, agricultural, forest and marine products are mainly exported to Vietnam while automobile spare parts, computer parts, construction materials, steel, plastics, pharmaceuticals and chemical products are imported to the country.
Meanwhile, 10.48 million U.S. dollars' worth foreign investment projects was permitted by the Myanmar Investment Commission during the period, according to the report of the official Global New Light of Myanmar.
Bilateral trade between Myanmar and Vietnam totaled over 714.8 million U.S. dollars in FY 2017-2018, the ministry figures said.
