BEIJING, April 5 (Xinhua) -- Chinese women's national basketball team took the public training course at the General Administration of Sport of China on Thursday. According to the head coach Xu Limin, the team will try to overcome all the difficulties to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Four young players from Chinese Olympic women's basketball team are invited to join the team due to the absence of some players who are preparing for the trial training at WNBA.
Xu Limin said: "These four young players are qualified for the national team. The senior players could lead the young players and the youth could promote a better performance of the seniors."
With FIBA's new competition system for the Olympic Games, Chinese women's national basketball team will face strong opponents such as Australia, New Zealand in the qualifying tournaments.
Captain Shao Ting said: "Improving our performance and skills is all we need to beat tough teams."
