BRATISLAVA, July 30 (Xinhua) - Slovan Bratislava's second victory over the Kosovan football club KF Feronikeli brings the Slovak champions closer to the coveted Europa League Group Stage.
After last week's 2-1 triumph in Bratislava, Slovan won the second leg match in Kosovo 2-0 on Tuesday and advanced to the third round of the Europa League Qualifiers.
David Holman's corner kick found the head of Veron de Marco and ended up in the home team's net to put Slovan ahead 1-0 in the 19th minute. Nine minutes into the second half, Holman added a goal to his assist, capitalizing on Andraz Sporar's nifty pass and stretching the lead to two. Moments later, Feronikeli was close to cutting the deficit, but Dominik Greif's quick reflexes defused Astrit Fazliu's attempt from close range.
The home team tried to mount a comeback towards the end but their efforts got thwarted by Mevlan Zeka getting sent off with a red card.
In the upcoming third round of the Europa League Qualifiers, Slovan will face the losing team from the Champions League Qualifiers battle between the Irish team Dundalk FC and Qarabag FK from Azerbaijan.
