BELGRADE, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Turkey defeated Serbia 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-20) to extend their winning streak to three at the FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League here on Thursday.
At the Aleksandar Nikolic hall, Serbia made more errors in the beginning, while Turkey played better in blocks and serves and easily won the first set.
Turkey continued their attacking in the second set, but owing to Serbia's tough defense and precise serves, they struggled to expand the lead in a dramatic finish.
The same scenario repeated in the third set.
With three victories in three matches of the Week 1 of the competition against Serbia, South Korea and the Netherlands, Turkey came on top of the table with 9 points, followed by Serbia with 6 points.
On May 28, Turkey will play their next game against Japan, while Serbia will meet the United States.
Finals of the competition will be played in China in July.
